Hi All,

What are .DXF files used for, and when does it make sense to convert a drawing to that format?

Thanks in advance and Regards

Every time if you share the file and the target side (user or machine) can not read dwg, but dxf.

I mean there is plenty of freeware available to view .dwg files right.

The question is uninteresting, because if someone use a program that can not import DWGs,

it is what it is. That there a many programs who can read dwg files is nice to now,

but it isn't helpful if you need the data in your not-dwg-compatible program 😉

Du YOU only viewing dwg files? No.

And out there are many machines that can import DXF, but not DWG (CNC, Laser-cutter and so on)
