When working in a drawing, I try to save and I get (Drawing file is write protected)  I know I'm the only person working in it so what could be causing this issue?  How can I solve the error?

Sincerley,

Suzanne

When I encounter this kind of error, assuming you’re accessing your file from a Windows server, the problem typically is related to an unstable connection from your workstation to that server. So in your case, where are your dwgs stored? How are you connected to this storage?

I always assume it is a short loss of internet service that comes back on and reads my file as open so it locks it as @paullimapa said.  I save as another name, then immediately save back to the original name and continue my work in the file.

Remember to delete the unused file to keep your folders clean.

I had more memory added and that is what I have been doing to get around it but it is getting time consuming. Every other save I get the error. There has got to be some setting that is causing the issue. I am hardwired into the internet so that isn't the problem.

Sincerely,
Suzanne

When you say you are adding memory are you referring to hard drive space or ram?

Reading through the save process you could try to see if the write access problems go away by setting ISAVEPERCENT=0
