Double click on block doesn't open attribute editor

I have AutoCAD 2018 installed.  When I double click on a block to edit the attributes, the Enhanced Block Editor doesn't open, it only opens the Properties palette?  I have to keyin DDEDIT and select the block to edit the attributes.  Never seen this before.  There must be a setting that controls this?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Sorry, I'm using google translate
The reason is just that the block has an attribute.
Try removing it and you'll see that you open the block editor.

Hi @Anonymous, a couple things to check. Make sure PICKFIRST is set to 1 and DBLCLKEDIT is set to ON

Start a new thread. This one has a solution.

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Then you have another issue, with the same symtom.

AND Attach a DWG with one of these block reference!

Then we can see what the problem is - (the Click goes to another object than an attribut, perhaps an attdef/constant)

I had the same issue/symptom.

In my case the cause was an attribute that was in an invisible Visibility State.
