Dist. command unit needs to be changed to millimeter

Anonymous
Not applicable

Dist. Command shows the dimensions in meter unit. But I need them in millimeter unit. Changed "units" settings to millimeter & that is not working.

Are you sure the dimensions do not just have mm overrides in them, and that someone created your file with 1unit=meter? Find out before you use DWGUNITS command to fix your DWG to the correct units settings and unwittingly scale your file by 1000 for no reason.

There seems to be a number of issues you could be having.

Are units Meters? (This is what I would assume is the issue)

Are you in Paperspace  taking a measurement from Items in paperspace rather than model space? (This would mean the scale factors are really out of whack)

Is your dimstyle set to multiply your units by 1000 in order to show Millimeters? (This would confirm your unit is actually a meter and not millimeter.)

Hopefully that gets you pointed in a direction that you can figure out what to do.

Accepted solution

Changing units with UNITS command won't work, the unit will remain a unit: one meter will become one millimiter, one foot, one inch, one parsec...

Invoke -DWGUNITS command and change length option  to

<3>.  More options will prompt, change them according to your needs.

Keep a copy of the file!  Once you transform it there is not return.

Cheers, I hope this helps you.
