We use acad2015 and if i do CTRL-0 and CTRL-9 and back again, my File Tabs are gone.

In the options they are still off but i can not get them on without restarting acad.

Yes, I can repeat this here in 2016.

Please create a support ticket on this so that they will know about it.

Hi @Wheelie22,

When I do thi s in AutoCAD 2015-2017, all I have to do is hit the CleanScreen button and everything comes right back to normal.

Give this a try and let me know if it works for you too.

John, that is the same as doing Ctrl+0, and the File Tabs do *not* come back in 2016 here. I have not tested in other versions.

Hi @rkmcswain,

Yes you are correct. I neglected to mention in 2016 I had to also type FILETAB to get them to display. I did not however need to restart to get this to work.

That is interesting. They do not return for me, even after running the FILETAB command.

I'll do a screencast to show this if I find the time.

Hi @rkmcswain,

No need for the screencast - I always believe you. I am just curious about the difference.  Are you in Civil 3D?

While on the subject...

I have my file tab closed, SDI to 1 and Startup to 0.

Every once in a while the file tabs are displayed when starting
AutoCAD and there is "sticky behavior" until I restart AutoCAD.

When the file tabs are closed, SDI is 1 and Startup is turned off,
there is a *cancel* that shows on the command line when starting
AutoCAD. I do not care to see this command line noise.

Vanilla R2016.

Go figure.. my colleage has this to sometimes, but he uses :

- view

 Display File Tab1.png

and then the tab is back.

And we have the same acad (acad electrical 2015 PV 12.2.0.8) same W (W 7 Professional SP1) only differend hardware (and user).

And i tried both buttons and these both work until CTRL+0, not with CTRL-9. So i think CTRL-0 (same as the button clean screen) is the problem.

criticism is easy
programming not

@john.vellek - No Civil 3D, just AutoCAD 2016. Maybe it's related to the video card and/or driver? Using NVIDIA Quadro K4100M, driver version 354.42.

Hi @Wheelie22,

So, thinking out loud here...if your other user logs onto your machine and goes through these steps does the problem remain?

Testing 123.

My colleage logged in on my PC and he started with the ACADE profile and got the same dissapearing filetabs.

Then restart acad and our own profile the same.

We notised that after CTRL-0

- the Layout tabs where locked in the on position (if you had them on)

- the FILETABSTATE setting changed when you type FILETAB / FILETABCLOSE and the color of he button changes to.

Display File Tab1.png

It seems only the screen is not updated.
