Dimension String Glitch

Hello Forums,

I have been experiencing a dimension string glitch on and off for the past couple years where all the dimensions change to having large visible nodes on the points. It seems to happen when I switch from paper space to model space. Undo does not revert the switch and closing and reopening does not seem to fix the problem either.

The question is two-fold:

1) Is this a glitch/error that can be avoided in the first place?

2) Is there a quick way to fix the dimensions without having to manually change the properties on every dimension (via Match Prop)?

See Screenshot.

Thanks.

If you don't want the below symbol, change it to the 'point' type.  (upper left)

Another option, change the size to 1%.

I have not seen this before, dimensioning in autocad would put a nondisplay (second from top left on ddptype) and it would be on DEFPOINTS layer and never display like that cross.

What is the difference between the DDPTYPE and the PDMODE?

Is AutoCAD taking the 5% from the paper space when I switch back to model space?

I will see if these options work next time this problem occurs, I have since corrected all the dimensions.

Yes, with the % it will change the size based on your 'zooming'.

Change to absolute units, if you don't want that behavior.

I do use the DIV command sometimes when I don't want to do a lisp calculation (eg. (/(-(-83 5)1.5)3) to get 3 equal spaces), so it is helpful for me to have the points display visually sometimes. But you guys did provide me with some additional angles to attack the problem next time it occurs.

Thank you.
