Dimension paperspace scale

All,

We place our dimensions in paperspace, the scale automaticly adjusts.

Most of the time there's no problem, but sometimes we notice that the dimension isn't scaled.

After some searching we found out that it is because of the snapping point.

When you snap for the first time to a point, it takes the element point and it is alright.

But when you use a second time the same point, it will take the dimensionline as referencepoint.

And then he gives the length of the dimension line and then it looks like he doens't scale the proper dimension.

How can we solve this problem that the dimension line in paperspace Always snaps to the element?

Thanks for the response!

Just make sure you are careful what you select (turning off the node osnap will help a bit) and take a look at osoptions

To answer your question, when you use an endpoint snap, don't select directly on the endpoint.  Instead, select away from it.  When you select at a point that has more than one entity, you defer the selection to AutoCAD.

IMO, dimensioning in paper space is only workable and stable when dimensioning is the last thing you do or if you are dimensioning to viewbase objects.

I don't understand about the "dimensions scaling" though.  Dimensions in paper space don't "scale". They just adjust their lengths to track objects in the viewport according to changes of scale in the viewport if still associated.  There shouldn't be any need to continually rescale viewports though. Viewports should be locked as soon as they're initially scaled.

Model space editing of 2d objects often creates unexpected alterations in associative dimensions and often breaks that association.  The same is true of transpatial dimensions.
