Dimension anomalies

I have imported 1 dwg into another dwg. The dimensions and coords are true on the seperate drawings, but when imported the dimensions are changing.

If I hover near an intersection the dim is saying one thying, but if I move just a fraction of the line it says a diffferent measurement?

For example grid to grid on one dwg is 10m but after importing it is 9.95m when I am really close to the intersection, but when I actually snap onto the intersection the dimension jumps to 10.45m??

The coords are saying that the grid lines are true on the planet, so am confused why the dimensions are changing??

If anyone has any ideas i'd be eager to hear them as I am totally confused at the moment and worried what I set out in the field will be slightly wrong... Which will be BAD!!

Welcome to the Forums

Check that you do not have the same style of dimension in both drawings, BUT which are set up differently.

eg in both drawings you may have a style called 1:10

In Drawing A the scale factor could be set at 10, BUT in drawing B it could be set as 11.

I think I found the issue.

I clicked on a line and then grabbed the end and extended it to meet another line. I then used that point as my insertion point for the second drawing. The stretched line has somehow freaked all the dimensions out after insertion. Even though the coords were saying it was square, the dims were saying otherwise.

very odd.

I redrew the grids without stretching the line and every thing seems to be as it should.

Very dangerous feature.
