Different ltscale for same object in differen viewports

I have been doing quite a bit of research today for this, but can't seem to find the answer.  I have a drawn line with a linetype I created that shows up correctly in a layout viewport on one page, psltscale to 0 and ltscale to 1.  However in the last page, I want to set the linetype scale for that viewport for all the same lines but scaled to 0.5.  I have read several posts in about 5 forums, autodesk support, MS copilot AI, etc and they say different things.  Regardless of which method I try, it changes the scale on all the viewports.  Please help.  I have clips of the views I am using.

yep, you don't want to change the line object's linetype scale to a different value which will impact how they look in all the other vports. Since the way it looks now is correct in all the other layouts with vports, I would leave that alone.

So a better solution would be for you to make a copy of the linetype definition in the acad.lin file, modify the copy changing the definition so that the scale you want works. Now inside the vport of that last page you can assign the VP Linetype of all those lines layers to the copied linetype definition.

I thought of that solution, but then you have more linetypes to manage and keep track of at different scales.

The solution I used was to create additional objects, put them on different layers just for that viewport, and then trim them a bit so they don't overlap into other viewports except maybe the neighboring one at the right matchline. Then I selected the objects on the new viewport layers and adjusted the linetype scale so the look OK in the viewport. Different way to accomplish the same thing.

What would be super helpful would be a column in the layer manager for VPLTScale like the linetype itself and linetype color, to associate with the viewport. Then should be able to select the viewport boundary, and change the linetype scale for individual viewports, sort of an additional VP override variable.

I thought about the copy method too but if you ever have to make revisions then you'll have to erase the copied versions and recopy the revised lines and do the whole thing over again. I prefer to have one version so that when changes are made they're automatically reflected.

Yes, too bad no such thing as VP Linetype Scale...you can always submit that as a wish list item either here or in AUGI:

Actually the VP Linetype Scale idea would not work because that would impact all the objects inside that vport and in your case you only want specific Lines to have the Linetype Scale changed.

It would be nice if it were possible, but unfortunately it is not possible. And practice will unlearn you from making copies. It is just too complicated.
The solution is either scale everything or nothing.

The only thing I really struggle with is road markings. If it's not in the right scale then it's wrong, not just ugly. Modified definitions as VP Overrides is my solution too. Fortunately, there are not many of them. But... still complicated.
