Difference of intersection object snap and extension object snap considering object snap tracking

intersection snap object extends lines automatically and shows snap object on the extended part which exactly is the same as what extension object snap does.

I wanted to know can the extension object snap do anything that intersection snap can't do when object snap tracking is on ?
