DGN to DWG Conversion

I have no knowledge of what an XREF is or what SHX files are.

I can get the conversion to work, but some of the text does not import to AutoCAD correctly. I posted this in the AutoCAD Mechanical forum as well.

Assume I am an idiot when it comes to all things Microstation and AutoCAD related. I'm just trying to convert from one to the other. I have access to both programs, but have limited knowledge in both programs.

Font is the biggest obstacle when converting .DGN to .DWG

Unless microstation drawing uses windows fonts, when converting it's very compatible; otherwise nothing you can do about the microstation fonts.

For many tasks it is possible not to do converting.

It is possible to work in MicroStation (v8, v8i) in DWG (2000-2010). Create DWG in
AutoCAD on the necessary DWT- template, with the necessary linetypes, descriptions of blocks, textstyles, etc. MicroStation understands DWG, as an own format.
In MicroStation it is possible even to create DWG on the necessary DWT- template.

Necessarily it is first needed set the saving options DWG from MicroStation - in Save as or in Export--DWG.
