I have been trying to update and change drawing sin my company.

I have used the purge command to delete all the shown blocks leaving just the Title Block but when i go into design center/ insert block there is still blocks i do not want showing.

How do I remove these when they are now showing on the purge command.

TIA

You can purge a block (or Layer, dimstyle, style..) when it is not used only.

Upload the DWG and say what the Blockname is, we can check the DWG to see where the problem is.

>" all the tanks/ valve blocks that are saved."

Thats not a Blockname, but okay. let's try.

1. Why is the DWG not deleted?

2. When I delete the blocks, these blocks are the only blocks that are left:

"AIR BLOW VALVE"
"COMPRESSOR"
"CONTINUATION POINT"
"DRUM VESSEL"
"FLOW METER"
"INSTRUMENTS BOTTOM"
"INSTRUMENTS TOP"
"REV"
"ROTARY VALVE"
"Tall tank with legs"

And these Blocks are alle used in MODEL and LAYOUT1, delete the blockreferenzes und you are able to PURGE the block,

because then they are not in use.

EDIT: If you don't know how to select the objects: Use QSELECT FILTER or SSX for selecting

Apologies i was not getting them available to delete until i saved and re opened.

I have reattached the drawing

you say that the only blocks left are used on the layout/ model space which i think are now deleted.

I have no option to purge the following i want to remove

"AIR BLOW VALVE"
"COMPRESSOR"
"DRUM VESSEL"
"FLOW METER"
"ROTARY VALVE"
"Tall tank with legs"

Apologies again im new to doing propper blocks/ professional drawings and want to set up my templates right before starting drawing.

I looked at each block in the Insert palette, and they each showed that they were inserted in the Text layer on the Layout1 tab. I went to the Layout1 tab, then used QSELECT to select all objects on the Text layer, then deleted them. I was then able to purge all of the blocks. I hope that helps!

The basic method:

Thaw/turn on/unlock all of your layers.

Use FILTER or QSELECT commands to grab all instances of it.

ERASE command.

Then use PURGE command to remove if from your DWG file.
