Delete button on mouse deletes command line in stead of lines

I've just got a new mouse where I can adjust the buttons to different functions as enter, escape and delete. I normally select a polyline and then I hit the delete button on the keyboard to erase the line.

Now I'd like to do the same with the mouse. But when I select a polyline and click on the delete button, I notice that it deletes the 'Type a command' in the commandbar but not the polyline. Is there an option to prevent this and delete the polyline (or an other object in the drawing) instead?

Which mouse are you using, which mouse driver version, and how did you go about assigning delete (and to which mouse button)?

Can you tell me what version of AutoCAD and mouse you are using? Does the delete key on the keyboard now also remove the command line input?

I'm using autocad 2018. I only have the problem with the delete button
on the mouse. If I work with the keyboard everything is normal. I just
wanted to use the mouse for the, for me, most common used functions as
delete, escape and enter.

Autocad 2018, the Evoluent Evoluent D Medium vertical mouse wireless
with the Evoluent Mouse Manager V6.0.3.0. But I've tried several types
of Evoluent mouses. In the evoluent mouse manager it is possible to
assign differennt functions to several buttons and one option is Delete.
But in stead of deleting the selected line in autocad, it's deleting the
text: "Type a command" in the command line.

So you are an AutoCAD for MAC user? if yes, you are in the wrong forum.

Weird that it is deleting text at the commandline, makes me wonder if your mouse is actually invoking a Windows DEL function or not (explains why it work in other programs, my guess is those are not CAD programs?) or you simply have the commandline active when you choose that delete function.
