delay betweeen osnap en object tracking

I remember something about a setting for the delay time between snapping to a certain point and the moment the object tracking kicking in. Working in AutoCAD 2021 I can't find this setting anymore. In some systems the delaytime is so short that it's not possible to snap to (for example) endpoint, because the object tracking takes over a split second after the osnap. Is this 'delay-setting' still available? I found some posts about docking the command line (not docking would somehow interfere with object tracking), but in all systems the command line is docked.

Any Ideas?

Hi,

If you see the icon for Endpoint-snap you can use this snap even an hour after you placed your cursor on that time.

Tracking starts only when you move the cursor away from the endpoint position.

I would not know of any delaytiming as it all depends on your cursor position/movement.

Not in this system... Even with object tracking off, hovering over a line somewhere near the endpoint, the endpoint-snap is shortly vissible, but before able to click it the object tracking takes over.

This sounds like your APERTURE setting is much higher than the setting for the autosnap marker size.
Start command _OPTIONS, tab "Drafting" and compare your settings with my screenshot.

@Anonymous: Thnx for replying, but the problem persists. I tried adjusting the aperture settings, but without satisfying result. Yesterday reinstalled AutoCAD completely. Most of the problem is now solved. The problem now only appears when dimensioning (as shown in the screenshot attached). When hovering over an object, immediatly 3 tracking points appear, even with object tracking disabled. The tracking points even don't make sense... When I force a osnap (click dim, then for example endpoint), the osnap overrules the object tracking. That's a work-around, but still no solution.

Hi,

>> Yesterday reinstalled AutoCAD completely

Would not help if you have not reset the AutoCAD profile too.

Can you please start command _ABOUT and create a screenshot from this dialog.

Then please let us know the current setting of OSMODE

Even stranger: I reset AutoCAD to defaults. Without any adds-on, placed a dim. When trying to ad a new dimension, hovering over the first dimension, immediatly the object tracking points appear. Yesterday the complete version was uninstalled/reinstalled (new downloaded when installed), without any difference...

Hi,

...in a new drawing based on an original AutoCAD template?

Please show me the screenshot as mentioned above + the setting of OSMODE.

Hi,

thank you for your screenshots ... please update AutoCAD, you have not installed any update in AutoCAD 2021.

Then sorry to say, I guess it would be necessary to see your keyboard and mouse actions as I'm not understanding what really happens here.

Did some research here... Loading another profile solves all. Corrupt profiel? Interfering with commands/settings? Strange. We've updated AutoCAD, loaded a new profile and keep watching what happens. Thnx so far, let's hope it's solved.

Hi,

>> Loading another profile solves all

Strange, because you wrote (and I already suggested) you did a reset settings ... and this did not solve your issue?

Anyway, lets hope all is done now to get your osnaps better working.

Yes, but after resetting, my collegue opened his profile, unknowing this could be the issue. So far, with the new profile, everything seems to work fine. Let's wait and see
