Hi there,
I've had an issue lately using DATAEXTRACTION to export linework from company drawings to a file that is later used with in-house software to analyse designs.
99% of the time the extraction works perfectly, but on some computers a bug appears roughly every couple of weeks where the data extraction .csv is correct for all fields but the radius, which has an incorrect value in it. This issue persists until I reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable on the affected computer, which then fixes any issue. What's interesting is that there is no other indication on the affected computers that something may be broken with the C++ redistributable.
Performing extractions on these files works perfectly once this is reinstalled, and when compared to the affected output the only value difference is the radius field. I have tried reconstructing the drawing from the exported linework table, and this confirmed that the radius in the broken field is incorrect. It differs from the real value in varying amounts, but it is always roughly 0.5-2x the correct value.
Looking online, I know I can extract the radius in other ways and manually put these in the extracted .csv files, but this is a painful workaround as the intent of our in-house tools is to minimise the time spent analysing designs.
If any of you have experienced this before/have any assistance you can offer it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
Hi @Anonymous,
Welcome to the Autodesk Community!
That would be frustrating, and a lot of work. This almost sounds like an application is altering or damaging C++ on the systems affected.
Do you have any other applications or third party add-ons that utilize C++? I might look for a pattern with these applications that were used prior to seeing the incorrect radii issue.
