Data Link with multiple different ranges

Hello, we are trying to create a table in AutoCAD with a few different selections in Excel. Is it possible when entering ranges into the "Link to range" field when editing an Excel Link? We have a fairly large Excel file, and only need some specific lines in one particular table in the Excel file. For example:  A few of the ranges are BN1:BW5; BN9:BW9; BN13:BW13... etc.

I have tried entering "BN1:BW5, BN9:BW9" and this didn't work. I also tried a comma with no space, ";" with and without a space and these didn't work.

Anyone know of a way to do this?

Thanks!

As far as I know, you can link the entire spreadsheet, a single row, a single column or a 'range' of cells (range=is the diagonal corners for a group of cells). It sounds like you're trying to link more than one range, is that correct? The 'range' must be continuous, it can't be broken up into separate groups.

Alternatively, you can create a separate table on a second 'tab' in the same excel file. For example, the new table has a top half and a bottom half, where the top is stacked directly on top of the bottom so it looks like one tall table. For the top half, you get their contents from range 1, and for the bottom, you get their contents from range 2. Both range 1 and 2 are on a separate tab from the new table. Then you can data link to the 'new' table.

Okay, fair enough.

So what you are suggesting is creating a new table in the Excel file with the contents that I want and then data linking that information into CAD? Just wanted to make sure I'm understanding correctly.

I will pass this on.

Thanks!
