Data link not holding excel merge & center setting

When opening drawings up that have an Excel datalink attached, with 'Use Excel Formatting' checked, the notes in Excel that have merge & center applied to them show (see picture) as overlaid on the rows above them. I have created a new datalink both with and without 'Use Excel Formatting' checked/unchecked and the table will not display as set up in excel. Does anyone know a solution for the AutoCAD table to recognize the 'merge & center' function inside Excel?

Can you confirm this cell has Text Wrap turned on?   Also, I have used Edit > Paste Special...  (with the Paste Link option) to insert my excel documents (OLE Objects) into AutoCAD.  It has worked great, no problems.

Text Wrap has been applied in the excel file. I will suggest we use <pastespec> moving forward vs datalinks as it did hold the look we want. Now I'm curious what the benefit of using datalinks is. Thank you for your reply.
