Is data extraction command in autocad 2023 can extract blocks globally? Like folder containing multiple drawings? I tried it but did not proceed. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi,

it should work, the only reason for trouble with them: too many data (many files/many data)

>>"Any suggestions? "

1. Explain more about your tries&fails

2. Try it again with a test folder&subfolder with 4 or 5 files only.

I see. Maybe there is a limit of drawing to be extracted at once. I tried 10 drawing files, and it works. Do you have any suggestions how I can extract entire blocks in my library? There are approximately 320 drawings from different manufacturers. Each drawing are blocks of different equipment.  I need to extract it into one table. Thanks. Any help is much appreciated.

I have had issues with DATAEXTRACTION with large amounts of drawings. The problem is that the data extraction tool  does not give you good feedback on failures. Likely there is a drawing that needs to be audited or recovered etc, or that has some odd drawing data that is causing problems.

I would break it down by subfolder and see which one is giving you the error. you have to watch it during its processing so you can tell where it stops. When you find the drawing that is kicking it out, you need to either remove that one (or multiple) or repair them so that it works as needed. Its a bit of a pain, but its better than the alternative.

Hey there! I stumbled upon this thread and saw that you were having trouble extracting blocks globally in AutoCAD 2023. I'm not sure if you ever figured it out, but I wanted to let you know that it should be possible to extract blocks from a folder containing multiple drawings. I've done it before without any issues. However, without knowing more about what you did, I can't really pinpoint what went wrong. Maybe you missed a step or there was some kind of glitch. I found this service https://www.nannostomus.com/ that might be helpful in case you want to give it another try. Hope this still helps!
