Data Extraction stops loading files

I am having problems with the Data Extraction Wizard.  On Step 2 the Wizard stops loading the files after like 10 of 70 and will not proceed to next step.  Any help resolving this issue would be appreciated.  Thanks

Hi and Welcome to AutoDesk Forum,

>> ...stops loading the files after like 10 of 70 and will not proceed... <<

i believe that this amount of files (70) is the reason for stopping loading.this is take us for a Q:does this issue exist if you choose 15 files or less? also the amount of data in these files have a big effect in data extraction.

Hi,

>> On Step 2 the Wizard stops loading the files after like 10 of 70 and will not proceed to next step.

Can you show a screenshot what you see at that moment of "no proceed"?

The data amount is one criterion, but another one maybe that this special file is defect? ...or has proxies embedded?

Can you run the same procedure again, but with the last 50 files, so it's clear that the 10 or 11 or 9th file is not touched?

Imad & Alfred,

Thanks for your replies.

Imad,  selecting less files does work, but this is still a problem which requires multiple mini batches since most of the drawing folders I am trying to rip data from range from 100 to 400 drawings. Funny thing I just completed this activity within the last 6 months for two other Units and the extraction went fine.  I even ran extraction on a couple of these folders with their .dxe and they both ran fine 81 & 132 drawings.  One thing that is different thought is that I had AutoCAD reloaded on my machine back then and that may have made a difference.

Alfred,   I tried your suggestion and isolated the drawings/files where the program stopped loading, but the program still stopped at the same count of files even after skipping or isolating potential bad drawings.

Again Thanks for your suggestions, I will try reloading AutoCAD to see is that helps.

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Does this behavior happen if all the files are stored locally as opposed to a network location? Does this process always fail at the same point?

I am wondering if this is due to some network latency or packet loss.

It sounds like you have already checked the various files for errors which was my first thought. I have seen obsolete page setups causing errors part way through a Publish job before.

I have had the same issue.  I have narrowed it down to 1 file on a local hard disk, and still have the issue.  The wizard starts loading files, and after about .5 seconds, the status box disappears and nothing has happened.  This happens with multiple different drawings, but only when the "Extract Objects from Blocks" box is checked, and not when it isn't.

Thanks

Joel
