Custom Linetype Problem

Hello,

My custom linetype does not curve and follow an arc or circle path (see attached picture). How do I make the square with a cross look like the squares without a cross?

The linetype is made using a shape.

Thank you!!

Is the shape being used from your shapefile the box-plus-the-lines-on-either-end, or just the box? I suspect the former, not the latter. Confirm/find out for sure, and share it here too with your DWG.

If you don't mind the diagonals not reaching fully to the corners of the squares, you could do this with a Text element in the linetype, rather than figuring out how to adjust your shape definition to not include the line extensions.  There is even a choice of weight -- this is "ST" in the Wingdings 2 font:

And surely there are fonts out there, or a Unicode character or something, that have such a thing with all-the-way-to-the-corners X arms.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it is the former, the square with the cross has the lines attached to it.

Please find attached the DWG file.

Interesting, I did not think of this. I am going to give it a shot. Thank you!

So the shape does include the "wings."  A shape in a linetype can't appear other than as an entirety, and can't curve or bend pieces within it.  You could re-make the shape with only the X'd square; then your linetype definition would need to include pen-down segments between the shape insertions, like your GUARDRAIL linetype and the same as if a Text element is used instead.

[When you get to that, I have a suggestion to make the squares look more correct in relation to the curve.  Look at the way AutoCAD's FENCELINE2 linetype is defined, and compare it to your GUARDRAIL.]
