Crosshair colour changes over objects

Hello,

I just upgraded to AutoCAD 2018 and went to set up my background colours and crosshair colours as I prefer them.  However, when I move my crosshair over any object, it changes colour.  If the cursor is supposed to be red, when it moves over a green object, it turns a very pale red-grey colour.  Over light grey it turns a very light blue (see screenshots below).  This is incredibly frustrating, and furthermore it is often difficult to see the cursor when it changes colour.  The whole point of changing it to red was so that it stands out on basically everything I deal with.

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

I'm trying to find a solution, but haven't found one yet.

I changed my Cad to use the windows cursor and then I made the windows cursor the solid filled black arrow. I did this so it's easy to see as you said. I know it's not a solution to your question but it's sort of a solution to why you changed the color in the first place.
