creating piping isometric blocks with attributes

I have been using some piping isometric blocks for a while that just have a piece of text in them so after I place the block then i explode it and edit the text to have the proper size call out.

i am currently in a rush situation on trying move everything to autocad 2018 and create a template file and block libraries and tool palettes. I am working on the blocks now and was replacing the text with a attribute that you edit when you place the block. At first I would like to type the size and hit "enter" and move on, but it looks like I have to select "OK" to get out of the attribute box. Then I got to thinking if you could place the block then pick the size maybe it would be better...is this do-able and is it easy?

Thanks,

Steve

If you change the variable ATTREQ to 0 the block will be inserted with the default value and you can change it later.

ATTREQ set to 0 fixes the situation where I don't want to be questioned on the default of the attribute, but some blocks i insert have attributes I do want to be questioned, also not sure if this setting accepts the block rotation as 0, I have a block I use that I typically like to rotate in position when I place it.

Thanks for your help.
