Create 3D from boat skeleton model - EDGESURF or other way?

Hi, see drawing attached.

I have this 3D scan of a boat model.

Is there a way to make a mesh/surface/solid that replicates how the wooden planks are layed there on the outside of the hull? Hull is divided into 17 frames (english term : spunts?)...can I make EDGESURF for each of the then 19 parts of the hulls outside?

Also here a picture of the model, about 1 feet long.

I doubt Autocad can do anything from scan picture to make a 3d model, it can do 3d by using Loft if you have a lot of cross sections.

Hi,

You can use section to divide the source mesh, create polylines as replacement for your frames and from that point you need to do your job as the hull (which I understand is what you need as final result) is not fully defined based on that 17 frames.

Does that help? I'm not sure about if that is helpful as you seem to already have started with creating sections ...

Yes, I forgot to mention I started dividing... In a way. I Just started learning Autocad five days ago.
I will receive hand-draw drawings from each outer edge of the spunts in some days.
I am not that familiar with the differences between EDGESURF and LOFT yet. I will read up.

Also I should explain my goal.
We are going to build this boat in a 20 feet size version. We will probably build it as the model, with 17 spunts. But my goal is to have a technical drawing, with the possibility of increasing/decreasing the number of spunts, and if so all of them with equal length between them.

Especially this statement + the information your dwg-file was created with a student version let me suggest to use Inventor or Fusion360 for that project, both are working with 3D parametric (which AutoCAD can not), but is needed if you want to change the number of frames.

Thank you for good info.
I will receive sketches similar to the frames digitally made here in this video https://youtu.be/QBsEF4IlB2w: , so I will give Inventor a try.
