Count palette returns unrelated objects as errors

AutoCAD 2022. I have a block with rectangles. Count palette appears to return the correct count but stepping through the objects in the error report is highlighting rectangles in unrelated blocks. I explode the rectangles in the block I am trying to count and that clears the errors. Temporarily. There should not be errors like this just because another block also has a rectangle in it!

Because the count palette will not count visibility states I do a SAVE AS to create the next simple block for the next part variation to count. Now the first block is showing a count error as a "renamed block" as it is now somehow connected to the Save As block. WHAT?

Does anyone know how to disconnect all these connections AutoCAD Count is finding to separate objects and reporting as errors that should be unrelated?

I had REALLY high hopes for the Count palette but the deeper I get the more it appears to be another great idea from Autodesk with a half way implementation so that it will be shelved and never used again.

could you provide an example drawing?

Are the blocks nested in other blocks? Are the blocks dynamic?

I will have to make one when I have a chance, right now everything I have is export controlled.

Here is one example though; There is a simple dynamic block that is a rectangular polyline with one flip and one stretch. It does correctly find 6 of the blocks which is correct (top of snapshot). Click in the exclamation however and it says there are 43 errors. Stepping through those they are rectangular polylines in the drawing. In the example in the snapshot here they are not blocked, just rectangular polylines. Why is this block connecting to totally unrelated objects as errors when the only connection is they are rectangular plines? The entity in the block is on layer 0 and the block is not on the same layer as the error entites.

Are the rectangles its finding the same dimensions as the block rectangles?

No, not close in size.

The other part of this is shown in the attached snapshot where the dynamic block BPB6001-003 shows a count of 57 in the palette because it is counting all of the "error" parts in red (that became linked from using SAVE AS in the block editor). BUT, when you click the plus sign you see the two visibility states and the correct quantities (7/20) that total up to 27 which is the actual correct number and what gets inserted  when you insert the count field.

So the Count works, but inspires zero confidence in depending on it being correct.

Does no one else get a palette full of error symbols like in the snapshot?

I haven't been able to duplicate the issue. is the block nested? try exploding the block several times and then recreating it with a different size (not just a different scale).
