Corrupted command line entry

When i type in single or 2 character commands (l,m,pl) I get an odd error where the last character is duplicated in the que. for instance, I type "l" SPACE the command line will show the following:

Command: l LINE
Specify first point: l     <------ this "l" should not be here and prevents mouse input

polyline gives:

Command: pl PLINE
Specify start point: l        <----- again the extra "l"

This error does not always occure but it's often enough to pose a significant disruption. other commands give a similar result (move, erase). I have turrned off autocomplete, autocorrect, dynamic input. with limited to no change. I have also unloaded all of my lsp files and addons. Problem is occuring on multiple computers and both 2014 and 2015.

Any ideas out there?

Are you using your mouse button for <enter>?
Are you letting AutoCAD 'guess' your command names as you type them out?

Pendean,

No, I am using the spacebar for enter (though using the enter key has the same effect).

No, I have dissabled "auto compleet" and "auto correct" as the delay caused by the search causes errors in processing commands.

I do use a KVM but I have tried with 3 different keyboards (wired) and I have bypassed the KVM and it has no effect (still have corrupt commands)

I'm a heavy user of the keyboard as <enter> too, wire keyboard, and I can't replicate: any tips on how else I can try to replicate the issue? L <spacebar> then mouse click and I can start drawing it for example. PL <spacebar> then mouse click and I'm drawing a pline.

Win7Pro here, L and PL defined in my ACAD.PGP file.

Hi,

Did you try to reset your settings to default?  This issue can be linked to a corrupted user profile, and the fact that the problem happens in different product versions can be related that the customer settings had been migrated fro one version to another.

Windows start button -> All programs -> Autodesk -> AutoCAD 2015 -> Reset Settings to default

I tried resetting the user profile, it did not fix the issue. If I log in as a different user then the problem is non existant, this isolates the  problem too the computer user profile. As I don't want to delete my account on my workstation, The following is my solution:

logged in as a different user, started acad, quit

opened regedit

went to HK_Current_User\software

exported autodesk tree

logged in as my main user account

opened regedit

went to HK_Current_User\software

deleted the autodesk tree

imported the autodesk tree from other user (same machine)

Autocad is now working as expected 🙂

Thank you for the assistance.
