Copy paste stops working in layouts on same drawing

AutoCAD 2013.

Usually I have all my text ready on my first layout and don't have to copy any onto additional layouts.

But on a couple of drawings I didn't do this.

Problem exists in the same drawing, I'm not trying to copy to another drawing.

I can copy paste or copy with base point and paste and it works once or twice then the copied text and objects fail to appear when I click paste..

I have to use the Purge command, save and reopen to get another one or two before it again quits.

I tried the DNG trick on one drawing but that didn't solve the problem.

This is recent issue, I'm never encountered it before.

I would welcome any input on solving this.

Here is an AKN Article that details many of the issues that could cause the problem. I have found corruption, constraints, and Scale List to be the most common.

I haven't had a chance to test all of the suggestions yet.

I was swamped trying to get out some paperwork.

I plan on hitting this issue Monday morning and see if all the suggestions resolve my problems.

I'll post success or failure.

The DGN Hotfix seems to have taken care of the last of my issues.

I know the files were a mess when I got them from the architect.
