Conversion

Hello there,

I started to convert ACAD blocks to mass elements in order to convert them to IGES.

I need to import AutoCAD 3D objects to Factory Design Suite. The conversion takes

quite some time on my 1230V2 Xeon and I wondered if I could reduce the precision of

the conversion in order to speed things up?

All the Options like facetdev don´t apply to the conversion but to the view in ACAD only.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Kind regards

Daniel

"Mass elements"?  Is this AutoCAD (or something else like Civil 3D?).

You can Export in AutoCAD directly to IGES.

Can you attach a sample file here?

Mass elements are objects used by AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD MEP. Daniel, I'm not aware of any setting that will speed up the convertion from solids to mass elements.

Why are you converting to mass elements before converting to IGES? Are you getting better results by doing this instead of going directly to IGES?

Hello there,
Iges fails without conversion because of the modelling method employed in the elements.

I will upload one of them to give you a better impression. I had no time till now. Perhaps I can do it tomorrow.

The geometry is described differently, maths saved me for once 🙂
