Contour lines from ArcMap to Autocad

Hello !

I work with Autocad 2011 and my colleague works with ArcMap. Today she was able to create a .dwg file with contour lines. However, I can't see the elevations of the contour lines in Autocad. The only layer I have are the contour lines themselves. In ArcMap, the elevations are not part of a layer, they are part of the "attributes" (not sure if I use this term correctly) of the points.

How can we make the elevations appear in Autocad ?

Thank you !

You also need to use ARCMAP, if ArcMap does not have an "export to autocad" option to dumb down a special file for R2011.

You can ask for guidance at that software's support forums https://community.esri.com/welcome

My colleague can create a .dwg for me, but it's just that part of the information doesn't seem to follow. I can't use ArcMap I really need Autocad.

I'll check the link, thank you !

If you have a ShapeFile (a collection of files) from the ESRI user ZIP and post that, or the drawing but depending on how it's created it may not have the properties needed.

The easiest way to bring contours into plain AutoCAD from ArcMap is to use the ShapeFile format that ArcMap can produce, and use MapWorks PolyContour Import.  It lets you simply choose the ShapeFile and a field from the data and it imports and automatically elevates the polylines.  It can also optionally assign the contours to different layers based on index parameters.
