Command History Questions

Hello,

I am having a couple of minor issues with AutoCAD 2016.

1) Usually, after I perform a command or undo a command, AutoCAD automatically shows the last 3 lines of the command history.  This is very useful.  However, sometimes, this just stops happening for seemingly no reason.  The command line will still work fine and the command line itself still shows the command name and all the prompts and my typing, it just won't display the previous 3 lines of the command history above the command line like it normally does when I perform or undo a command.  What I am wondering is why this sometimes stops being displayed, and how I can make sure this is always displayed.  When it stops being displayed, I can sometimes just switch to another sheet layout or switch to or from model space, and it sometimes fixes it.  Or, in other words, I don't know what fixes it, but I don't necessarily have to close and reopen AutoCAD to fix this.  My question is, is there a way to make sure these previous 3 lines of command history are *always* displayed, or, if that is not possible, what specifically will cause them to automatically display if they stop automatically displaying?

Any help would be appreciated.

2) My second inquiry is:

When I press CTRL+Z to undo a command, why does it group a number of commands together, and when it shows the history of commands, why doesn't it show all of the commands that were undone?  For example, if I draw a line, then zoom in on it, then press CTRL+Z once to undo, it says "u_ INTELLIZOOM", but it undoes the zoom AND erases the line.  My question is, why does AutoCAD group commands together like this, and, especially this question, is there any way to make AutoCAD either 1) always undo commands individually instead of in groups, OR 2) at least have the automatically displayed previous 3 lines of command history *actually show* all of the commands that were undone?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,
