Color Plotting

I have been using the plot style table set to "monochrome.ctb" and usually have no issues when it comes to plotting in black and white.  Now, no matter what I do, I am printing in color.  All layers are set to black in set up.  I have not changed anyting and I compared the settings to a previous project and its all the same.

Thanks

Just a thought....do you have plot with plot styles checked in your plot dialogue box? Just a question.

If you used true colors, monochrome will print colors.

Go through each viewpport and change Visual style.

One or more viewports is set to print differently.

I tried setting all the viewports to 2D Wireframe and still print in color.  I opened up a previous project and compared the settings and they both match but I can print correctly on the previous but not the current.

As for the 2D wireframe, I need to print in hidden, but it's not working anyway.  I emailed the company where I purchased the software and subscription.

I'll post the solution when I receive it.

Thanks for the help!!

Very interesting problem, can you post this drawing with only a few lines in it? Let's see.

Hi,

If you have the Shade plot setting as Hidden for the Viewports then the plotstyle will not be used and the drawing will plot in colour.

If you can upload an example drawing we should be able to say exactly what the cause of the issue is.

Thanks,

Dan

I clicked on the viewport and under properties, shade plot was set to hidden.  I changed that to "As Displayed".  I right clicked the layout and went to "Page Setup Manager" select "Modify", and confirmed that under "Shaded viewport optios" - "Shade plot" is set to "As displayed".  Still prints in color.

I compared this to other drawings and everything is set the same.  For some reason, its not changing.

I have support from Synergis working on the issue.  Still can't figure this out.

Hi,

if nothing like _AUDIT or _RECOVER helps, upload a drawing that does show that problem.

You can delete the elements from modelspace and titleblock if there is something not for www-publication, but leave some entities so we can see and reproduce the issue.

I received tech support regarding the plotting in color issue.  I apologize for the wait but I wanted to see what they had to say first.  Their solution was to configure the plotter settings.

Right click the ploter,

Printer Properties,

Under the "General" Tab,

Preferences,

"Layout" tab,

"Advanced" button,

Under Graphics

-Image Color Management

then adjust the ICM Method and ICM Intent (see attachments):

Then go back to click the "Paper Quality" tab

and set the color to Black and White.

Then they suggested to create pc3's specfically set to only Black and with along with all the settings stated above.

If I set the ctb file to plot all layers to Black, I shouldn't have to go through all this.

I still think the issue has not been solve so I attached the DWG.  I had to trim it down so I can upload it.  If anyone can find the solution please post it.

Thanks

Hi,

you have set your viewport to be plotted with visual style "realistic" ==> that renders ==> and rendered output creates true color ==> and true color can't be converted by CTB or STB settings.

Change either the visual style within the viewport or the shading-plotstyle for the viewport it to "old hidden" (don't know the excat word) and that's it.

Therefor open the property-window (<Ctrl>-<1>) and select the viewport.

I tried to set it all to hidden or 2d wireframe and still I get color when I print it out.  Not sure if there is a bug, but have you tried it on your end??

Hi,

>> set it all to hidden or 2d wireframe

where did you set it? And don't use "hidden", but instead use "old hidden" (or "legacy hidden" or whatever it's name is)

>> have you tried it on your end??

I did, of course 😉 Find the attached files and look into it.

Hi,

You do not need need to the plotter/printer to plot in black.

The solution posted by Alfred is the correct one.

Thanks,

Dan
