Color by Block

I have a block with multiple blocks in it.

Each individual block has the color set to by block.

In one case I need the all of the block to be the same color (Magenta).

Other cases I need each individual block in the to be a different color. (Cyan and Yellow)

Is there a way to achieve this with out exploding?

Thanks,

Beth

AFAIK a block has only ONE color property. So all inner blocks with "byblock" color property inherit outer color. Either from layer, if it's "bylayer", or object's property.

Your block contains two other blocks. Just BEDIT that "two-block" block, change the color of the internal block to whatever you want, and done. The individual blocks are not affected, only the content of this all-inclusive block.

Is that not working for you?

[I don't think that can cover the "In one case ... Other cases ..." consideration in Message 1.]

Perhaps: OP will need to chime in for sure to provide feedback.

You can also try CHZ20.

Just change color of everything to ByBlock.

@pendean,

No, this does not work.

I need multiple all-inclusive blocks to be different colors.

When I BEDIT all the of the all-inclusive blocks change.

@bbrems3K829 BLOCKs are not per-instance unique unto themselves, you appear to have forgotten that if I read all of your replies so far to everyone. If you want that ability, then these bundles-of-blocks you have need to be GROUP objects instead, with all the limitations that afford.
Or you need to start creating many differently named blocks, each with a unique combo of your two+ blocks in them.

OR EXPLODE as you seem to only wish to do.
