co ordinate generation

I have existing co ordinate at 5m interval but i want to generate random co ordinate data based on existing 5m interval co ordinate data that represents exactly same cross section that is generated by 5m interval co ordinate data.......need help its urgent... I have attached the excel file of 5m interval co ordinate data....Thanks in advance

OK, I see you have a file of chainages/stations. What is it you want to do with it? Do you have Civil 3D?

Sorry for late reply...i have been to site....yes i have civil 3d....i just want to generate random cordinates which generate same same cross section that i have generated from the coordinate file i have attached previously

To be useful in Civil 3D your point file needs offset information to create an Alignment. If you create a Surface from those points, then you can manually create cross sections using CREATEQUICKPROFILE.

I have generated points as suggested by Dave, but it doesn't work.......here i have attached the generated random points data and screenshot......

OK, I see what you mean. The Surface Contours created from your new points doesn't match the Surface Contours created from the old points.

Contours are a representation of Surface Data, so different data (points) will produce different Contours. And the more widely the Points are spaced, the greater the difference.
