Club tile/fish tail type custom hatch pattern

Anonymous
Not applicable

 Hi,

I work for an architect in a practice in Berkshire, UK.

I spend hours drawing in and trimming out club tiles on gables etc. and i'm really struggling to  create a custom hatch that could do this for me.

Its a repeating pattern (I have attached a dimensioned .dwg) but I have no idea on how to describe an arc in coordinates.

Any help would be hugely appreciated !

Welcome to these Forums!  [And say hello to my sister across the pond, who lives in the Oxford area.]

A Hatch pattern definition can work only with straight-line segments.  A curve has to be broken down, such as in these patterns I have:

The "arcs" in the left are halves of 16-gons, and the "circles" in the right are 24-gons.  Your pattern looks doable in this kind of way, but how complicated a definition it would result in depends on how many segments you want the curve broken into.

Try this, created by HatchKit from a DXF of a tile taken from your drawing.

Actually I should be thanking you.

I found a bug in loading that DXF to HatchKit if its origin had not been set in close proximity before export from the parent drawing.

This is to be fixed along with some other issues in the next release available to license-holders for free from http://hatchkit.com.au/reissueform.php

best,

Hugh
