Changing multileader from text to block

Anonymous

I've set up two multileader styles, one for text, and one for a block.  After I place a text style multileader, I go to the properties panel and try to change to the other style, but the content does not change to the block.

Is there a quick way to change between text and block content?  I'm hoping I'm missing something very simple.

Have you tried a REGEN or a REGENALL?

Does anything happen when you change it? (text disappear etc)

Would you be able to share your file?

I did some more poking and found the same issue. I dont think you can switch between a text multileader and a block multileader in the manner you are trying. That said you can change between block multileaders.

A work around would be to create a custom block that is just a text attribute and make all your multileaders block multileadrs and use the User Block option with your text block as your text multileader.

Unfortunately it's not retroactive. For example, if you have a  ML style named MyFavMultiLeader with ML type=text and use it in your drawing, you cannot later change from text-type to a block-type and expect your previous placed ML's to update. All it will do is use the block in MyFavMultiLeader style from that point forward and maintain the text type for the old. After all, using a block may require you to input one or two attributes, e.g. drawing # and sheet #. Cad would obviously be confused because he wouldn't know whether or not to use the previous text, and if so, what text goes to Attr-1 or Attr-2.
