After writing a single line text, i have opened the properties menu and clicked "yes" on the drop down menu to add a text frame. Can anybody tell me how i can change this rectangle to a circle?

Hi,

Check no for frames for the text in properties.

Enter command TCIRCLE and check the options inside. You can create rectangles, slots and circles with this option.

I am not sure whether there are circle frames for text.

HI,

as mentioned above .... TCIRCLE command afford 3 options for the mission you asked for [Circles/Slots/Rectangles].

Command: TCIRCLE
Select TEXT, MTEXT or ATTDEF objects...
Select objects: 1 found

Select objects:
Enter distance offset factor <0.350>:
Enclose text with [Circles/Slots/Rectangles]

Note that the shape is not associated with the text, so if you move or copy, be sure to select them both!

It might be preferable to use either a multileader (with or without a leader) with "Block" option selected under the Content tab, or else create a block with an attribute and draw your desired enclosing shape. Either method will allow you to pick the object and get both text and shape in your selection.

Lowers risk of moving/copying and winding up with shapes or text "floating out there" because you only grabbed one!
