Change shape of existing viewport

Greetings Autocadders around the world

I want to change the shape of an existing rectangular viewport to a new shape defined by a closed polyline

I can easily recreate a new viewport to this shape, but I will lose all my settings and have to reset everything all over again.

Is there a way of just taking an existing viewport and changing its outline from the existing shape to another shape nearby which you can just select.

See embedded jpeg to give a better picture of what I am trying to do. ie modify and existing viewport's shape without having to recreate it.

Hi,

create a polyline which is your new viewport border, then select your existing viewport (with your viewport specific settings) ==> right click ==> use option "Viewport Clip" in the context menu and select your polyline.

Use VPCLIP, select current rectangular viewport, then select (or draw) a polyline.

@m_ismailWX3NX Are you just trying to capture the outline?

Or are you wanting to remove the function of the viewport?

Or do you want to remove the clip from your viewport?

Command VPCLIP [F1]

You want to convert a viewport, what is displaying the model space,

to just 4 (or more) lines, by get rid off the view of model space? Sounds crazy..

You can't explode a viewport, you have to redraw the shape and delete the viewport then.

Attached: VP2PL

Creates a polyline

If your really want to delete the viewport, remove the three ";;;" on the left (in this file)>
