I'm running AutoCAD 2017. Recently have noted an intermittent problem: When I press F8, for a transparent change of the ORTHO setting, the program freezes. I can make a quick switch to another program (e.g. MS Word) and switch back - then the program will un-freeze. Somewhat inconvenient. Anyone else experienced something like this?

HI @Anonymous,
Is your AutoCAD 2017 fully updated? Please use your Autodesk Desktop App to see if there are some updates waiting to be applied. There was a hotfix specifically for function key issues.
In the mean time, set TEMPOVERRIDES=0.

Same thing happens to me all the time. My work around is Ctrl+Alt+Delete and click on Task Manager. For some unknown reason, AutoCAD unfreezes and then you can X out the Task Manager dialog box to continue with the command. Other's in my group have experienced the same problem, but they now know how to fix it before terminating the session.
