Cell Formula showing characters

Hi,

I created a table with formula (3rd column). The formula is just 1/2 of column B. It is showing the correct answer but there's a character of the beginning "{\C;". how can I get rid of this? Thanks. I just need the answer on the 3rd column

It is just "=B2 / 2"

I am unable to reproduce it: what else is going in in that cell? Is that an issue if you start a new table?

if you start a new table in a new file?

I was able to fixed it. if I input formula and the data format is general then it will show "{\C;" but if I change the data format first to decimal number before entering formula then I'll get the proper format. Thank you for your input.
