Cannot PAN when on non "2d wireframe" visual style

Hi, I am having some trouble working on AutoCAD 2018 student version

I will try to explain my issue...

I am trying to work on a 3D Project, when I have 2d wireframe visual style everything works fine... but if I select a different one, let's say shades of gray, conceptual, xray, realistic, wireframe... if I try to pan, everything goes crazy, it rotates... I attached some screenviews to illustrate it... it is really annoying... please, help!!

thank you

Camilo

Hi,

i notice in your 1.png image this note at command line ( enhanced 3d performance is not available for the current visual style ) and this take me to this AKN article . >> Click <<  please read { Enhanced 3D display performance } .

Yes, that is the 3d Orbit... It happens when I pan... just pressing the mouse wheel and pan...

That is correct, but the same problem exists on realistic, which has enhaced performance

It's solved, now it's working, but I did nothing to solve it.... I just kept working on 2d wireframe and now I tried to switch to realistic and shades of gray and I have no problem.... but, it's going to come back.... it always does... it's not the first time that this happens to me... I even reinstalled AutoCAD last time it happened but the problem remained... so, if anyone finds a permanent solution to it... that would be great....

thanks

Do you have a 3D-mouse (3D-connexion device) on your system?

Or are you working on a virtual system or remote connection and AutoCAD is not started on you local system?

If the answer to both questions is "NO", then I also think that <SHIFT> is pressed while you hold the wheel-button pressed and move the mouse.

That does not necessarily mean you press the <SHIFT>-key, maybe something lays on the key or a software blocks it or ...

Next time this happens I would not reinstall AutoCAD, what you can try is:

  • press left and right <SHIFT> keys and release them
  • change visual style
  • change to another drawing (or to the start-tab) and back to the working drawing

Hello Alfred

1 - the answer is no to both questions.

2 - There is nothing wrong to the shift key, because I can work perfectly with other commands, if the case was that the shift key is pressed then my model would orbit even when 2d wireframe is selected, which is not the case, besides, the issue is not that instead of pan my model orbits but after the pan operation, the view rotates aprox 45 degrees (it's not 45, but close)

thank you
