Cannot open a dwg file from file within the file directory

Hi I cannot open a dwg file from file within the file directory. I have to open autocad first and then open that particular drawing through autocad. Before 2019 release you were able to open right from file folder. Am I missing something or is the new way in cad 2019?

is the dwg file symbol on the file name? Try right-clicking on a dwg file and under the "opens with" option hit change and choose acad.

Your version is 2019?

Then i guess: Your trying to use SDI mode (SDI=1), right?

With MDI (SDI=0) it should work - this way MDI works.. all files open in the already opened session.

SDI is not supported for 2019-2020.1.2, and for 2020.1.3 only with the 2020.1.3 SDI Hotfix.
