Cannot insert new attributes

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello all,

Consider myself going through a crash course on AutoCAD not since my company doesn't offer formal training. I will be utilizing this forum a lot, and am appreciative of the wealth of knowledge here. But to my question...

I opened a drawing file today that I've been trying to make a block with, and cannot enter in any attributes. My layers are "0" and "Symbols". I click "define attributes" and enter the info I want, but upon selecting insertion, it remains blank without any text or indication of an attribute. I can see it under attribute manager in the block editor window (treating "current drawing" as block), but it's nowhere to be seen in the block editor space or other. Any advice?

Add your attributes to said block in the block editor... when you're happy save and close the block editor.  When you insert your new block you will need to run command "attsync" on your new block for the attributes to take.  You will have to run this command anytime you add or change attributes within a block.  See youtube link below.

So from the video, you can see the "MFG" tag when he goes to place the attribute. In my drawing, when I finish an attribute and click OK, no text shows. I still choose a location, but the attribute is not visible (only option I have selected is Lock Position), and the attribute appears under "Manage Attributes". It only seems to occur in this one file too - I'm not sure what I did to cause this. If it's not repairable then I can always create a single new block, but this issue took me by surprise.

@Anonymous  Tried to mention that in my post. I do not have invisible selected. Only Mode I have checked is Lock Position.

Exactly @user181 !! Check ATTMODE (System Variable)

Or attach your block for me to check.

I'm a dummy. The drawing scale is out-of-whack and the text height was so small you couldn't see it being placed. I went from 0.2 to 50 and can see new attributes now. I appreciate everyone pitching in on this. Good points to remember in the future too, especially attsync. I've had to use that before but have easily forgotten it as well.

Thank you all.
