Cannot edit block, Application reference missing, AcDbLinetypeTableRecord

Cannot edit block in place.

The attached file is a copy/paste of ONLY lines, ellipses, circles and arcs.

I'd like to create an *editable block; I can create the block (also included in the file), but when I attempt to refedit I get this error:

Command: REFEDIT
Errors found in references to other objects:
** Application reference missing: GENIUS_GENBH_13, to AcDbLinetypeTableRecord.
** Application reference missing: GENIUS_GENOREF_13, to AcDbLinetypeTableRecord.

Could someone please tell me what is going on here?

From what I can tell this has been a problem for at least TEN YEARS.

Is there ANYTHING I can do aside from just REDRAWING line-for-line?

Thanks.

(FYI IT: Composing this post AND THEN Selecting Board refreshes the whole page and loses all of my work here.)

What happens when you double click on the block and then edit it?

Watch the commandline, it says:
Errors found in references to other objects:
** Application reference missing: GENIUS_GENBH_13, to AcDbLinetypeTableRecord.
** Application reference missing: GENIUS_GENOREF_13, to AcDbLinetypeTableRecord.

Your block needs something else that is missing.

REFEDIT has an alternate since R2008 (I think): BEDIT command. Try it instead. It works on your block in your posted file.

Oh for heavens sake.  That worked.
I feel silly, but I'm going to leave the post here because I could not find anything on it when I searched for a solution.

I don't like going into the block editor environment because I prefer to edit in place.

But I will take this as a workaround on these rare demonic possessed occasions 😛

THANK YOU

I just don't understand what could be "missing".  I created that block in that file with only lines, ellipses, arcs and circles.

There doesn't seem to be anything special about it.

But thank you for your fast response!

remove leaders with z elevation. or remove z elevation from the leader.

or you can convert it to MLD.

I also have this problem in my work with Auto CAD, is there any further solutions for it?
