I have this problem in a drawing -  Can't move text or block from grip point . Everything works fine, but after a while of editing   the drawing this happens .   I attached a picture ... . I used Autocad map 2019 x64 / WIn 10 x64 ..vlcsnap-2020-05-21-10h48m41s197.png

Hi,

maybe it's a UCS direction problem or a visual matter that fixed by DRAGMODE ( command ) = Auto . can we have just a small portion from your CAD dwg for testing please ?

I also used a lot "long left click on  the text and then dragged it to where i needed to be" . This works, but i can not see anymore the text moving along to the destination ... and the moving of the text and blocks , from their grip point definetly is not working any more ..i guess is a bug ..or something ... after i close and reopen the drawing , it is ok, everything is back to normal.

I had this problem also in Autocad Map 3D 2016 .  The original drawing has 4.6Mb , the smaller portion has ~1.09 mB

Thanks for the dwg .. i didn't find a problem to move the text with the grip . But , in AutoCAD when working too far from 0,0,0  [ Station 578 = 900718.138 ] you have to expect such a problem and start loose also the accuracy of your work . True .. it's a CAD bug when working under this circumstances . and this explain how it's start good then you start loose some CAD features .

I am a surveyor , those coordinates are far from the origin (0,0,0) , true  🙂  .But that  is in Stereo70 , Romania's national projection system. .. There it should be ... I can't move them ..    So to get this right ... it is a bug ... For now nothing can be done .... Let's hope , someone from Autodesk sees this ... 🙂

I can move your text and blocks. You don't have any locked layers. Was this drawing started in Civil 3D then exported to dwg? Your blocks and text can be moved using the grip.

Run recover. Run an Audit. Shut down and reboot.

Your drawing appears to be accurately georeferenced.

I am able to move the text and blocks. Here's a screencast that demonstrates moving 2 text and a block.

Bug? What bug?

Initially, when you open the program everything works , i'm not saying that . But, after a while of editing this happens .  Now... isn't this a bug ?

If there's a bug, check your add-ons  and any updates you made to it. You are running Topo LT.  Correct?

When was TopoLT last updated? Is the current version compatible with your version of C3D/M3D? You may need to install updates to TopoLT? On the other hand, If you installed TopoLT updates and it's giving you problems then you may have to roll back to an older version.

Your customized toolbar running vertically along the right side has missing icons, what happened? Did you perform a reinstall?  Have you checked whether your version of C3D is up to date? If it's fully updated, then the update may require you to download and install a new driver for TopoLT.

Could be that  ...i tried with Autocad Map2019 , and the latest of TopoLt for 2019 Autocad-s , that is what i am using in that screencast . TopoLt is up to date .....    i had same problem with an older version of TopoLT for Autocad Map 2016 , so i assumed is an Autocad problem ....

The customized toolbar i see it perfectly now with all the icons...i do't know why  it showed up like  that  in the recording ....

Hello everyone,

I have the same problem, my circumstances are: I'm using AutoCAD LT 2019, working near the origin 0,0,0 and after a while working I cant edit or move any object from the commands or grip points not just the block in my drawing, this even happens with new created lines. When the issue occurs I noticed that the Esc button does not respond anymore, Ctrl+Alt gives me an Error and after selecting an object I have to use zoom extend to deselect.

As a conclusion from all the information that I have at this moment I believe its a bug.

Sorry for the bad news.

The temporary solution is to save and close the drawing and reopen it.

Kindest Regards,

Octy

UPDATE:

My version of AutoCAD is P.46 , is an old version of AutoCAD which might be the problem, a software update might fix the issue. (I will update my AutoCAD and I will let you know)

The issue occurred on different files opened with the same program on different occasions.

I used RECOVER command and it did not found any issues with any of the files.

@Octy Tell us fellow end users you want to report a bug in an old software that falls off the support list at Autodesk next spring is somewhat pointless. But if you think its important you yourself need to report it to Autodesk over here https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

BUT... if closing and reopening the file (not the program) is the fix, you probably need to ensure there are no problems in the file (use RECOVER command to open it then SAVE to make the fixes permanent), and/or your old LT2019 is not updated enough.

What does ABOUT command show as your LT2019 version?

@pendean

I don't want to report any bugs, but thank you for telling me where to report anyway. I asked for those that have the same issue to posted here, in this way people searching for a solution or an answer can find it faster.

I use an P46 , its an old version of AutoCAD LD 2019, yes that may be the problem but for those that have an old, un-updated version can use my advice if they want to.

@Octy LT2019 updates are still available for all of us (including you) at your accounts page here, grab it and install it (then restart your PC) , see if that solves your issue in addition to fixing your file as suggested using RECOVER command https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates
