Can't click-drag to move object

Searched the forums for the past hour looking for a solution and haven't found anything, here's my problem:

I can't click-drag to move an object anymore. I could this morning, then at some point that functionality vanished. When I click and drag an object a circle with a line through it appears instead of moving the object. Using AutoCAD 2018 on a PC. I've put PICKFIRST, PICKDRAG, etc. to their preferred values based on comments I've seen in other threads and nothing has worked. The MOVE command still works but it's nice to be able to click and drag objects quickly when needed.

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please share a screenshot of this configuration?

Please go to Options, and Selection tab.

Thank you.

This has happened a few times to me. Restarting the computer does the trick every time

I am interested in self-inflicting this bug to my AutoCAD. Please provide more information to replicate!

Hi,

see post #4, it's temporary (and we don't know a straight way to force this memory issue on your side).

What you can try: Open a file with lot of objects and click-drag for an hour.

PS: If I am right: Search for your real goal, you are not the first one with this unwritten wish 😉

Sebastian
