Camera - 2 point perspective + Render preview fix ratio/resolution

Hi Autodesk team,

I would like to suggest adding those 2 features.

2 point perspective is essential and right now its not an option in AutoCAD camera settings.

Also framing the angle view is kind of wired, it will be so simple if there is an option for the Camera preview window for fixed ratio or resolution.

I am trying to improve our pipeline from AutoCAD to 3ds Max and would like our company team using AutoCAD to create the angle views and later on our 3ds Max system can reuse the same cameras. But without those 2 options its kind of difficult to create the optimal angle views.

Can you do that?

Thank you,

A typical use of a 2 point perspective is to ensure vertical lines (e.g., edges of a building) are vertical and parallel (do not converge to a vanishing point).  You can create a 2 point perspective in AutoCAD by keeping the camera and camera target at the same z value.   In the image below the red box has its base at z = 0, the other boxes extend above and below the z = 0 plane.  The camera and target are at z = 0.  Note that the camera preview shows th vertical box edges as vertical and parallel. A 2 point perspective.

Hi  leeminardi,

That is pretty obvious, I mean everyone with little experience knows that when target and camera are at same height there is no vertical perspective. That's not even work around, sorry.

We are missing those 2 features and this is more a topic to bring that to Autodesk team and I would like to see it implemented. I really can't understand how these options are not yet available, its like 2021 and I stopped messing with AutoCAD before 15 years and things didn't move much far away. Integration between Autodesk products means that we can extract data from one product and place into the next one, without doing same work over again. For example we use the power of 3ds Max but we also automate a lot and AutoCAD camera looks like not really fully develop tool. If those 2 options are available we can use the data from AutoCAD and use the rendering capacity of 3ds max without even pushing a button inside 3ds max. So we need to be able to compose a shot well inside AutoCAD. I have even more advanced request but that for another topics. Lets see if we can get those 2 simple features done first.

Thanks @leeminardi for your answer, at least it clarifies that this is not what I am trying to say.
