Blocks - Lines move unexpectedly, Attributes stay in correct location

Hi,

I am having a problem with my blocks containing attributes. When I place them in a drawing and then close/re-open the drawing the block linework has shot off into space but the attributes stay in the correct location. this seems to only happen to the blocks I have mirrored. I am using AutoCAD 2013 and I know this problem doesn't happen in newer AutoCAD versions. Is there a work around for this that doesn't involve updating my version of CAD?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

Is it possible to attach some of your blocks so I can try to duplicate in order to give you some suggestions?

See attached .dwg

See the block below "misc.". looks like its just text but the rest of the block is way off to the right of model space.

Hi @Anonymous,

Try this version of the Section block and let me know if it behaves differently.

HI,

BATTMAN will help you.you need to Synchronize the attribute. type battman in command line then select the block then press Sync icon. see attached image.

That works the same as attsync. The problem is that when it syncs the block it moves the text over to the line work, I need the line work moved over to the text (the text always stays in the right spot). It happens randomly, so I may have 50 blocks in my drawing and when I go to open it the next day its a mess. Is annoying having to move all of the blocks back into their correct spot.

@john.vellek That block seems to be working as of right now. What did you change? I also noticed that when I have my block at scale 1:25 looks fine but at 1:1000 it separates the line work from text.. maybe I did something wrong when creating it?

HI @Anonymous,

I changed the base point within the block to 0,0.

I do think it might be worth some time to rebuild the block. I hate trying to troubleshoot an existing one and it is likely to build from scratch.

I suggest that you post in the Dynamic Blocks forum for additional suggestions on how to build it a bit cleaner.
