Batch Standards checker - Custom Plugins Installation

Hi, everyone.

Is there a way to install custom plug-ins for the batch standards checker without registering a dll with window?
Is there any kind of .exe that could do it for me? Since I am not an IT person, I am afraid of changing registry files.

My last question is regarding new software releases.

If a new version is release do I need to do the whole registering process again?

the only information regarding this topic was found in the link below:

Thank you all for the attention!

You need to follow the documented steps. An installer can be created that takes care of everything. If you need help we can provide this service both creating custom plug-ins and installers.

Hi Jimmy Thank you for your answer.

In regards future updates or new software version.
If I decide to develop custom plug-ins, every time a new software version is release I will need to reinstall everything again or it is just a one time thing?

Thank you again!

You most probably you need to install again. The installer might need to be updated as well as the plugin.

Hi Jimmy,

Thank you for your answer

I am trying to evaluate the possibility of implementing custom plug-ins in my checking standards and one issue that I am facing is regarding how to actually install new plug-ins.

I didn't have a .dll to test, so I just copy one of the existing .dll file and renamed it,course it didn't work.

I copied the AcStDStyle.dll and renamed to AcStDStyle_Dim2.dll

I have been trying to follow the steps on this link https://help.autodesk.com/view/OARX/2022/ENU/?guid=GUID-84671562-3ADA-4B0A-871E-C38DDE0D8DF3 , but I am doing something wrong that all the time I got this error:

RegAsm : error RA0000 : Failed to load C:\xxx.dll because it is not a valid .NET assembly

I just would like to know how everything works in terms of installation by regular autoCAD users before opting to develop custom plug-ins,

If you could help me with this matter I would appreciate it a lot or if you could share with me how to go through the whole process (even with a dumb .dll that will just appear on the plug-ins tab in the batch standard checker) in a way that people who don't belong to the IT world, it would be appreciated a lot.

Thank you again for your help.
