background publish interference

When initiating a publish command with a large number of pages, at various points the process interrupts the focus of the active cursor. The cursor position needs to be reengaged to continue typing. This also affects working with the mouse to the extent that the active window repeatedly seems to loose its focus. Does this occur on all computers, or is there a way to remedy this so that one may continue working unimpeded?

Please provide detailed summary of your actions so someone can follow along in their AutoCAD/PUBLISH please.

PLUS a screenshot of your ABOUT command pop-up, and confirm your OS please.

Also ensure your mouse driver is not set to move focus/activate another window if it hovers over something else.

So the issue is mainly with the keyboard cursor loosing its focus on a given active window or box either in AutoCAD or not. The mouse is also affected but not as severely because a click simply reengages the focus. It occurs whenever publish is in progress, either through the publish command or through the sheet set manager palette. I would be surpized if this does not occur on other machines; this is Windows 10. I have no such drivers modifying mouse functionality; I am using some powertoys, though nothing suspect.
