AutoTurn - turn path shows up in Model Space only

Hello, this is my first time posting to the CAD forums so I appreciate the advice.

I have double checked that the turn path is on the right layer, and checked whether that layer is frozen in the viewports (it's not). When I isolate that layer in model space, the turn path disappears. Any idea what might be causing this issue?
Thank you.

Hello Paul,

Thank you so much for your help! The layer is "AT Trash Truck Berth 4 IN - Alternate3." It won't show up in the "Trash Truck Berth 4 - alternate" page viewports, even though it shows up on the "Trash Truck Berth 5" page.

When I looked at it the layer for AT Trash Truck Berth 4 IN - Alternate is frozen in that viewport.

I realized I have too many layers in there with similar names for that turn attempt. The "AT Trash Truck Berth 4 IN - Alternate" layer does show up for me when I unfreeze it in that viewport. However, I'm still having trouble with the "AT Trash Truck Berth 4 IN - Alternate3" layer.

When I freeze all layers except AT Trash Truck Berth 4 IN - Alternate3 there is nothing on that layer.

I get that result too. It does seem to work in the example I posted when the "AT Trash Truck Berth 4 IN - Alternate3" layer is current and a new turn path is created on that layer. I tried the same thing in my original file, which has many xrefs and some layer names even longer than the ones in the example. In the original file, I still had the same issue. I will try cleaning up my original the way I did for my example - by using the PURGE command and shortening some layer names. I'll see if that helps and post the results here.

I edited this post, because i wrote about another part of your drawing,

but the main problem (how layer properties ON/OFF and FREEZE/THAW works) is still the same.

Nested objects, nested blocks and layer usage  - the structur is not well done in this drawing.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,

basic layer&block knowledge, all works as normal.

Your Blockreference of Block *U466 for example refers to Layer "AT Trash Truck Berth 4 IN - Alternate3"
but the turn path and all other objects inside your block referes to "AT Trash Truck Berth 5 OUT - Alternate"

But your block contains objects on another layer only!

All content is refering to Layer "AT Trash Truck Berth 5 OUT - Alternate"

and this layer is VPFREEZED in that viewport!

A quick inside to Layer and Blocks:

Layer ON/OFF show or hide object which refer to this layer.

Layer Thaw/Freeze load or remove objects which refer to this layer from editor.

AND:  For Blocks&Xrefs: Is a layer freezed and one blockreference refers to this layer,

the blockreference remove from the editor (wich means: also all the content disappears,

because there isn't longer the Blockreference object, which display the block content.)

You also have a viewport on layer "AT TRASH TRUCK BERTH 4 IN - ALTERNATE3",

have a look more on your layers.

Got it. Thank you @paullimapa, @M_Hensley  and @cadffm for your help. Looks like I need to do some more reading on blocks and layers in AutoCAD, and keep in mind AutoTurn paths are always created as blocks. Have a great day!
