Unrelated to Autodesk products, recently my computer was unable to boot and reverted to an earlier restore point. That did not effect AutoCAD or Inventor as far as I can tell, but it broke Autodesk desktop app. I can unistall it, but how do get it to reinstall it? Now it give the error --"Error Unable to connect to server. Please try again later." I can assure you than my internet connection is fine. It was working perfectly before reverting to the earlier restore point.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @Anonymous,
Ok so I built a VM with just AutoCAD in a WIN 7 environment and I wasn't able to reproduce your issue.
Below are a list of things I would suggest in troubleshooting this;
1. Uninstall/Reinstall Visual C++ (follow the steps in the hyperlink article)
2. Uninstall/Reinstall .NET files
3. Send me your NFO file
If the issue still persist let me know I can try and get further input from a specialist on the I&L team.
Thanks for reporting this issue.
First of all, our apologies for any inconvenience it might have caused.
The latest Autodesk Desktop App can be installed from this location: https://emsfs.autodesk.com/utility/adskapp/landing/?source=email.

Guys
I had the same problem with the auto desk Desktop app after it upgraded .
I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but this didn't fix the issue.
What i found was that if i reset the proxy settings for the A360 , then it worked immediately.
I understand this may not fix everybody's connection to the server issue, however it repaired mine.
Hopefully this helps .
regards
Tony

launch Task Manager and end the AutodeskDesktopApp.exe *32 process on the Processes tab. Reopen the Desktop App and viola it works.
I too was getting lots of white screen and no desktop app. So yes, I closed it using task manager and reopened and it came alive. Of interest, if I just closed the app and reopened, it did not fix. So there's something wrong with the app.
I too noticed various bugs and have since stopped using the desktop app for the time being. I also picked up bugs with Inventor 2020's services and when I open the program it does not show the thumbnails as it does with Windows Explorer. So make sure your services are running. That did fix some running of the mill errors, but then it didn't fix everything. Also, if you right-click on the launch icon on your desktop, there is a troubleshoot compatibility option that you can run. It fixed my error, but then after I rebooted my pc, the error returned. I have given up to try and fix it and hope the next release will be better.
